Cold water plus cold air creates these mystical monstrosity's.Yep, it has happened. The ice beard is everywhere now. It's replacing the man-bun and the man-braid in the world of fashion. Soon you will be able to go to your nearest salon and get yourself a acrylic "ice beard" glued to your face. But for now, the only proper way to get one is by in fresh water with sub-zero (Celsius) air temps.This fine specimen was created during a 7 degree (Fahrenheit) day. The waves weren't big but fun was still had. Bill Tuman - Flat Track Motorcycle Racer from the Indian Wrecking CrewI traveled to multiple states to the homes of these two legendary flattrack motorcycle races to capture their portraits for a feature in Motorcyclist Magazine @motorcyclistonlineBack in the '50s, Indian dominated motorcycle racing. Three bad ass dudes dudes were the guys to beat. Bobby Hill, Bill Tuman, and Ernie Beckman where known as the Indian Wrecking Crew. Ernie passed nearly two decades ago. They earned about $7,000 a year racing, which was then good money. In each of his two years as Champion, Bobby made about $10,000. (Today's champs earn about $200,000!). It was an honor to be able to sit down and hear their stories. "We were grateful to have made it through the war. This was back in the day when every company, that was part of that new world wide web thing, had extra money to burn. We burned our cash by hiring the Prime Minister of Funk to play a private party for us. I also got to have a dance battle with MC Hammer while working at SEGA but that's a story for a different time.George Clinton is regarded, along with James Brown and Sly Stone, as one of the foremost innovators of funk music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Famein 1997, alongside 15 other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.George Clinton is unique in pop music - and his story is funked up.Growing up in 50s New Jersey, Clinton was obsessed with doo-wop and R&B. Nothing unusual there. But how many kids like that ended up playing to tens of thousands of rabid fans while wearing a diaper? How many of them built a spaceship, complete with light and sound effects, and landed it onstage during concerts? How many of them put their stamp on four decades of pop music, from the mind-expanding sixties to the hip-hop-dominated nineties and beyond? How many of them have fans who jump up on stage and literally blow smoke out of their ass? Just the one.Smoking asses? A woman in overalls jumped up on stage while smoking a joint. She dropped her pants, "stuck the joint up her butt and blew three smoke rings. Every time we tried to start the next song, people were laughing so hard that we had to stop." Clinton got her on the phone about 20 years later to ask her about the incident, and her response was, "Did I really do that?" Clinton dryly notes, "It didn't seem like the kind of thing you'd forget."
